The Tony Wertz Scholarship is awarded annually in honor of Lawrence Antone “Tony” Wertz (’65). Tony was born and raised in Missoula and was a enthusiastic and generous supporter of the University of Montana and Montana Beta where he made many lifelong friends. Tony passed away in 2012 and this scholarship was established in remembrance of Tony and his commitment to family, friends, the University of Montana and Montana Beta.
Scholarship Criteria
- Montana Beta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity member in good standing.
- Student of University of Montana School of Business in good standing.
- Montana resident
- Preference to graduates from Lincoln County High School/ Lincoln County
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
- Additional consideration will be given based on fraternity, university and community involvement, live in status, initiative, and leadership.
Apply for the Tony Wertz Scholarship
The scholarship amount is up to $1000 and is paid directly to the University of Montana to offset student costs. Applications are due March 1st and will be awarded in April for the following fall and spring semesters.
