JOHN OLSON SCHOLARSHIP
The Olson Family established the John Olson Legacy Scholarship in 2023. A generous donation was made in memory of John Olson and will make scholarships available annually for students who live in the house and are active members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Montana Beta, fraternity. John Olson was an active member of the Montana Beta house from 1959 to 1962 when he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following college, John taught high school in Hysham Montana. John not only taught high school but was the assistant football and basketball coach. John married the love of his life, Marilyn, on April 17, 1966. Together they were the proud parents of Karen and Randy. Later in life John worked for Pepsi Cola where he eventually managed the sales center in Casper, Wyoming. In 1966 John and his uncle formed a partnership and started a canning production company, Admiral Beverage. John served on the board of this company for 51 years. John was a natural leader and visionary who served on several boards as a member or chairman throughout his career. What was most important to John were the legacies he left his family: his love for God and family, his appreciation for music and history, his commitment to his community, and his love for Montana! The True Gentleman Foundation shall be forever grateful to John Olson’s family and to John, for their generous donation to establish this scholarship fund that will ensure his legacy lives on at Montana Beta!
